Dorothy Baker, age 91, Moran, Kansas, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019, at the Allen County Regional Hospital, Iola, Kansas.  Dorothy was born on March 18, 1927, in Chanute, Kansas, to Earl Ericson and Agnes (Applequist) Ericson.   Dorothy graduated from Elsmore High School in Elsmore, Kansas.  She and Howard Baker were married on June 24, 1945, in Savonburg, Kansas. Dorothy was a homemaker and a piano teacher.  She was a member of the Iola Presbyterian Church. Dorothy enjoyed quilting, crafting, reading, and music.  She was the organist for the Moran Presbyterian Church for over 50 years.  Dorothy loved attending her grandchildren’s activities and spending time with them teaching them to bake and craft.  Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband on January 17, 2010; her parents; and two brothers, Donald Ericson and Raymond Ericson.   Dorothy is survived by three sons, Greg Baker and wife, Jeanette, Concord, California, John Baker and wife, Lydia, Iola, Kansas, Joe Baker, Dallas, Georgia; one daughter, Linda Olen and husband, Ken, Clearwater, Florida; five grandchildren, Mark Meridith and wife, Sarah, Jessica Meridith, Justin Baker and fiancée, Karen Elliott, Maria Baker and fiancé, Maverick Smith, Jesse Baker; two great-grandchildren, Autumn and Kyle Meridith; and nieces and nephews.    A memorial service for Dorothy will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 5, 2019, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas.  A private family inurnment in the Moran Cemetery, Moran, Kansas, will be at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Moran Public Library, Moran, Kansas, and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Iola, Kansas.
