Dorothy Dieker, age 86, of Westphalia, Kansas, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013, at Golden Heights in Garnett, Kansas. She was born on July 20, 1926, at Westphalia, Kansas, the daughter of Omer and Frances (Schulte) Schillig. She graduated from Westphalia High School with the Class of 1944. She taught in a country school in the Westphalia area for two years prior to marriage. Dorothy was united in marriage to Wilfred Clement Dieker on April 30, 1946, at Westphalia, Kansas. This union was blessed with nine children. She was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church, the Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of the Americas and EHU. Dorothy was the church organist for many years at St. Teresa Catholic Church, and taught CCD. Dorothy will be remembered for her pies and her fried chicken. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, crocheting, and caring for her grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, Omer and Frances Schillig; her husband, Wilfred Dieker on April 1, 1989; infant great granddaughter, Abigail Hellmer on November 6, 2011. Dorothy is survived by her sons, Larry Dieker of Westphalia, Kansas; Donald Dieker of Salina, Kansas; Father James Dieker of Liberal, Kansas; Michael Dieker and wife HaeGyung of Lee's Summit, Missouri; daughters, Susan Hellmer and husband Jerome of Salina, Kansas; Janet Huss and husband Bernie of Lawrence, Kansas; Sandra Lammers and husband Dan of Kirksville, Missouri; Mary Adamy and husband Randy of Birmingham, Alabama; Anita Wirth and husband Tom of Lincoln, Kansas; 22 grandchildren; Traci Crothers, Jill Ahlers, Ryan Hellmer, Sam Huss, Andrea McCrate, Matt Huss, Daniel Lammers, Suzanne Beck, Rachel Adamy, Kelsey Adamy, Carmen Dieker, Coleen Dieker, Adam Dieker, Leah Dieker, Adeline Huskey, Andrew Huskey, Archibald Huskey, Emma Huskey, Aaron Huskey, Catherine Huskey, Elizabeth Huskey, and Albus Huskey; four great grandchildren; one brother, Clarence Schillig and wife Shirley of Westphalia, Kansas; two sisters, Jean Goodwin and husband Preston of Lee's Summit, Missouri; Sharon Miller and husband Willis of Garnett, Kansas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Westphalia, Kansas; burial to follow in the St. Teresa Cemetery. A wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening at St. Teresa Church with visitation to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Teresa Catholic Church or Pontifical College Josephinum Seminary.
