Dorothy M. Zornes, age 91, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022, at Webb City Health & Rehab in Webb City, Missouri.
Dorothy was born on May 2, 1931, in Howard, Kansas, to Alva and Beatrice (Fudge) Cloyd. She attended school in Howard, Kansas. On August 8, 1959, Dorothy married Orval Dean Zornes. Their union was blessed with one child. Over her career, she worked various jobs but primarily served as a housekeeper at Allen County Hospital.
Dorothy was an avid reader and spent numerous hours lost in her favorite books over the years. She also loved solving puzzles and watching western television shows. Dorothy's greatest joy in life was surrounding herself with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Orval "Blackie" Zornes; son, Stephen R. Zornes; parents, Alva and Beatrice Cloyd; and brother, Elzy Cloyd.
Dorothy is survived by grandson, Stephen Zornes and wife, Alicia; sister, Fern Hopkins; great-grandchildren, Wesley and Avery Zornes; and numerous other family members and friends.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside service to honor the life of Dorothy will be held at 10:00 A.M. on June 4, 2022 at the Fairview Cemetery in Mildred, Kansas. Inurnment will follow.
