Dotette "Dot" S. Roberts

Dotette "Dot" Roberts, age 94, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Friday evening, May 7, 2010, at Golden Heights Living Center, Garnett, Kansas. She was born on January 3, 1916, at Welda, Kansas, the daughter of George S. and Edith Oretta (Vines) Fox. She graduated from Garnett High School. She held several jobs out of school. Dot married Westley "T.W." Roberts on January 22, 1938 at Erie, Kansas. They had lived in and around the Garnett area all of their lives, farming and ranching. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Garnett and the Junction Needlework Club. She kept busy farming and raising her children. She was a quilter and always had one that she was working on in some room of the house. Dot also sewed for other people. Dot was preceded in death by her parents, George and Edith Oretta Fox; her husband, T.W. Roberts in 1998; one sister, Noma Randall Boots; and two grandchildren, Jay Roberts and Debra Roberts. She is survived by two sons, Howard Roberts of Manhattan, Kansas; George Roberts of Chanute, Kansas; four daughters, Bonnie Lovelle Roberts of Greeley, Kansas; Kay Roeckers and husband Henry of Garnett, Kansas; Glenda Howell of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Candace Damron and husband Carl Sr. of Garnett, Kansas; Twelve grandchildren; Twenty-seven Great Grandchildren; and Ten Great Great Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the First Christian Church in Garnett, Kansas. Burial to follow at the Garnett Cemetery, Garnett, Kansas. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home in Garnett, KS.
