Eddie Dean Johnson, age 69, passed away on December 24, 2023, at the Allen County Regional Hospital in Iola, Kansas.
Eddie was born September 12, 1954, in Colony, Kansas to Raymond H. Johnson and Virginia Douglas. He attended school in Moran, Kansas, until his high school graduation, when he joined the Kansas National Guard. He made a career as a press operator at Herff Jones in Iola, working there for 40 years before they moved locations.
In his leisure time, Eddie liked to do yard work and decorate for the holidays. He was proud of his home and lawn. Eddie enjoyed dining at his favorite restaurants, where he was a regular. He was active in the Wings of Warriors in Allen County, and the American Legion Jones Hardy Post #385.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, David Johnson; and sister-in-law Carolyn Johnson.
Eddie is survived by partner Terry Warren; siblings, Richard (Janet) Johnson, Ellen (Earl) Turner, Lester Johnson, Peggy (Dennis) Butler, Frankie (Sally) Johnson, Warren (Debbie) Johnson, Jim (Leiah) Johnson; sister-in-law Gladys Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Jones Hardy Post #385 in Moran, Kansas, or Wings of Warriors.
