Edith Dellinger

Edith L. Dellinger, 92, of Iola, Kansas, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Windsor Place Nursing Center in Iola. Edith was born February 12, 1917, on a farm near Mapleton, Kansas, the daughter of Roy and Pearl (Haxton) Powell. On February 19, 1935, she married Sam Dellinger and they made their home in Iola. He preceded her in death on December 1, 1989. SURVIVORS: 2 Daughters: Delores Bishop & husband, Tom of Grandview, MO; and Sandra McAnulty & husband, David of Arkansas City, KS 3 Grandchildren 1 Great Grandchild Edith was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Powell. VISITATION: 1:00-2:00 p.m., Friday, April 17, 2009, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola prior to leaving for the cemetery. GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 17, 2009, at the Colony Cemetery. Chaplain Lloyd W. Houk will officiate. MEMORIAL: Iola Alzheimer's Support Group Memorial gifts may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangements.
