Ellen Marie Miller, age 93, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015, at Guest Home Estates in Garnett. She was born on May 14, 1922, in Anderson County, Kansas, the daughter of Jacob and Emma (Plunkett) Wagoner. Ellen was united in marriage to Ownal Wesley Miller on August 2, 1941, and they accepted Christ as their Savior in November 1949, becoming members of the Old German Baptist Church in the Cedar Creek District. They were blessed with two sons. She enjoyed farm life, gardening, fishing, and later in life became very involved in ceramics. Ellen taught singing school to her local church family and friends for over 40 years, which brought much joy to her. Ellen was instrumental in organizing the caroling and compiling of the books. Singing was a way of life for her, in expressing her love for the Lord. She loved singing with her family, hospice caregivers and fellow residents and staff at Guest Home Estates. Their many trips to the mountains and the Gulf Coast created special memories; with The Holy Land and Alaska being the highlight. Ellen was a C.N.A. for several years at Anderson County Hospital. She was a caregiver. Ellen had a quiet strength, servant's heart, and steadfast faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Emma Wagoner; her husband, Ownal Miller in 2013; her son, Wesley Miller; one granddaughter, Carol Leigh Miller; siblings, Ethel Woods, Florence Hirt Wolf, Andrew Wagoner, Mildred Davison, and Donald Wagoner. Ellen is survived by her son, Garland Miller and wife Helen; daughter-in-law, Barbara Miller-Burns; six grandchildren, Dana Wise and husband Matt; Janine Fullmer and husband Kent; Bruce Miller and wife Gail; Angela Rogers and husband Brent; Greg Miller and wife Carol; Brad Miller and wife Heidi; 20 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at Old German Baptist Church, Westphalia, burial following at Bethel Cemetery.
