Emma Joy (Graham) Briggs was born on January 4, 1932 in Apple Springs, Texas to the late Ruby Pearl (Standley) and Charlie Asbury Graham, and died Monday, February 26, 2024 in Tyler, Texas.
Emma resided for several decades in Southern California, where she entered Ambassador College in 1953; leaving after her Junior year to marry and then become a mother late the following year. She placed her family's welfare above her own and was a dedicated, loving and talented homemaker for many years.
Eventually, Emma entered Pasadena City College to pursue Business, Accounting and Secretarial Science courses which led to employment with the Unisys Corporation; where she was a Patent Specialist Secretary in the Los Angeles office of the Unisys Law Department, Patent and Technology Group from 1986 until her retirement in 1997.
After the death of her husband, Emma chose to return to her beloved Texas from where she first began her life's journey. From there Emma treasured her large and extended family, together with friends, until the Lord Jesus called her home.
Survivors include her son, Graham Briggs; daughters, Grace Joy and Stephanie Morick; grandchildren, Justin Brush, Riley Briggs, Hayley Briggs, Amanda Corkins, Anneliese Joy, Christian Morick, Miranda Morick, Sarah Mares and Ethan Morick; brothers, Quincy Graham and Charles Graham; sisters-in-law, Iris Parker and Naomi Jimeson; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawson C. Briggs, Jr.; sister, Sarah Graham; brother, Thomas Graham; sisters-in-law, Helen Graham, Marie Graham, Sue Graham, Fumiko Makishi, and Rachel Monahan; brothers-in-law, Chet Parker and Richard Jimeson.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Colony Cemetery in Colony, Kansas. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.feuerbornfuneral.com
