Etta Johnson, age 67, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at her home. She was born on June 14, 1943, at Talbott, Tennessee, the daughter of Raymond Edgar BeBout, Sr. and Imogene (Withers) BeBout. Her family moved to Olathe, Kansas when she was a young girl. She attended school in Olathe. Following high school Etta married David H. Johnson; two children were born to this union. They later divorced. Etta lived in Olathe and Gardner, Kansas until moving to a farm near Princeton, Kansas in 1987. In 2004 she moved to Garnett. Etta enjoyed being involved with her children's activities when they were young. She liked to make crafts. While on the farm Etta loved the country life and especially enjoyed taking care of her herd of goats. Etta was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her companion and friend, Michael Phillips, of the home; one daughter, Joleta Benjamin and husband Alan of Milford, Illinois; one son, Chris Johnson and wife Pam of Gardner, Kansas; five grandchildren, David Johnson of Omaha, Nebraska; Chelsea Reno of Piqua, Kansas; Allyson Benjamin of Milford, Illinois; Cortney Woodruff of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; Michael Johnson of Gardner, Kansas; two great grandchildren; one brother, Raymond E. BeBout, Jr. of Durant, Oklahoma; and one sister, Anna R. Weaver of Los Angeles, California; and her beloved dog, Bud. Family will be present to greet friends at a visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2011, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas.
