Eva E. Mannen, age 101, of Iola, Kansas, passed away August 10, 2023, at the Anderson County Residential Living Center, Garnett, Kansas. Eva was born December 28, 1921, in Neodesha, Kansas, to Ralph Barcus and Alberta (Seaunier) Barcus.
Eva graduated in 1939 from Buffalo High School, Buffalo, Kansas. Eva attended one year of college. Eva married RC Mannen on November 2, 1945, in Robinson, Kansas.
Eva was a bookkeeper for the Allen County Hospital for twenty years.
Eva was a caregiver for her parents, her husband, and her sister-in-law, giving tirelessly of her time and care to help them. She was known for her giving without ever asking for anything in return. Eva was an accomplished seamstress, a scout leader, a room mother, and a Sunday school teacher. After Eva retired, she enjoyed helping Pam by preparing art projects for Pam's first-grade students.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband, RC; her parents; infant son, David Lee Mannen, brother, Kenneth Barcus; and sister-in-law, June Barcus.
Eva is survived by daughter, Pamela (Larry) Hart, Iola, Kansas; grandchildren, Brandon (Monique) Hart, Burlington, Kansas, Kimberly (Jim) Raines, Burleson, Texas, twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2023, in the chapel at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. Inurnment will follow in the Buffalo Cemetery, Buffalo, Kansas
