Eva Maxine Martin

Eva Maxine Martin, age 92, passed away June 29, 2018, at Guest Homes Estates in Garnett, Kansas. Maxine was born March 13, 1926, in Elsmore, Kansas, to George Hibbs and Etta Laura Baldwin Hibbs. Maxine was married to Eddie Laver. They later divorced. Maxine married Loren Ralph Martin on February 11, 1972, in Iola, Kansas. Maxine worked as a beautician and later at Midland Brake, from where she retired. She loved to camp at Farlington Lake and fish for crappie. Maxine always had to be the first to eat a fresh tomato from her garden. When asked how she was feeling, she always responded: "With my fingers!" Maxine is survived by her son, Gene Laver and companion, Sherry Hart, Moran; step-son, Loren Lee Martin and wife, Patty, Girard; two step-daughters, Sharry Rains and husband, Ron, Fort Scott, and Maryn Wiggins, Pittsburg; three grandchildren, Karla Boots, Brian Laver, and Misty Hodges; four great-grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren, Richard Goodman, Brett Martin, Patrick Martin, Sara Staples, Jill Evans, Shannon Rains, and Wesley Wiggins. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Edwin Arthur Laver; second husband, Loren Ralph Martin; son, Everett Laver; brother, James Hibbs; sister, Lucille McManus, and grandson, Michael Laver. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Iola, Kansas. A graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, 439-459 2000th Street, Humboldt, Kansas, at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2018.
