Ferna Fae Manspeaker, age 94, of Garnett, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at Golden Heights in Garnett, Kansas. Fern was born December 8, 1921 east of Bush City, Kansas, the only child of Aratus "James" and Nancy (Griffith) Kibbe. Fern grew up just west of Garnett and went to grade school at the Fairground school house. She graduated from Garnett High School in 1940. On June 6, 1941 Fern married Jim Manspeaker at Garnett, Kansas. Fern was a member of the First Christian Church of Garnett, local card clubs and square dance club. She enjoyed dancing; going to auctions, playing cards, but her greatest joy was her family. Her great-granddaughter Nicole was a special source of love and joy for Fern. Fern was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Jim, on February 15, 2008. She is survived by her son, Doyle Edward Manspeaker and wife, Betty, of Ottawa, Kansas; two grandchildren Jeffrey Edward Manspeaker and wife, Debbie, of Garnett, Kansas, Lavonna Fay Stewart and husband, Arlie, of Ottawa, Kansas; seven great-grandchildren, Nicole Manspeaker, Jason Beers, Nikki King, Kristi Rockers, Blaine Stewart, Kaylind Stewart, and Arlie Stewart; and six great-great-grandchildren, Dakota Beers, Beau Beers, Wyatt King, Quinton King, Andrew King and Holden Manspeaker. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 22, 2016 at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Garnett, interment will follow in the Garnett Cemetery.
