Florence Rose Guess, 90, of Iola, Kansas, died Monday, March 22, 2010, at the Allen County Hospital in Iola. Florence was born May 7, 1919, at Baker, Montana, the daughter of Nick and Margaret (Petcoff) Madler. She grew up in Montana and moved to California at age 18. She spent most of her life in California before moving to Iola in October of 1999. She was a homemaker most of her life. She married Clinton Albert Forman who preceded her in death. She later married Fay B. Guess and he died in 1997. Florence attended Covenant of Faith Christian Center and Fellowship Regional Church both in Iola. She had taught Sunday School and enjoyed helping other people with bible studies. SURVIVORS: 1 Son: Brian E. Forman & wife, Melody of Iola, KS 2 Daughters: Joyce E. Tarter & husband, Jim of Iola, KS, and Beverly B. Hurlock of Gas, KS 2 Step-Daughters: Lillie Gardner and Bobbie Keaton both of California 1 Sister: Terri Knott of Great Falls, MT 25 Grandchildren and Step Grandchildren 26 Great Grandchildren 6 Great Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen E. Cardell White, a son-in-law, Jerry Hurlock, a grandson, Andrew Whiteman and 8 siblings. FUNERAL SERVICE: 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 25, 2010, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. The Rev. Phil Honeycutt and the Rev. Jeff Cokely will officiate. Visitation will follow the service. Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, is in charge of arrangements.
