Forcine Lena Callaway

Forcine Lena Callaway, age 90, of Iola, Kansas, died on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at Windsor Place in Iola. She was born December 10, 1926, in Carlyle, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Sarah (Reaves) Gibbons. Forcine grew up in the Carlyle area. Forcine married James R. Callaway in 1954 in Iola, Kansas. This union was blessed with four sons and three daughters. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing crocheting and drawing. She also enjoyed her animals. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sarah Gibbons; two sons, Steve Callaway and Jim Callaway; two brothers, Francis Gibbons and Patrick Gibbons. Forcine is survived by her husband, James Callaway, of the home; two sons, Joe Callaway of Iola, Kansas, Jeff Callaway and wife Aimee of Iola, Kansas; three daughters, Teresa Murphey and husband Ed of Iola, Kansas, Carol Settlemyer and husband Rick of Colony, Kansas, Melissa Scott of Shawnee, Kansas; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Highland Cemetery in Iola.
