Frances E. Tweedy, 83, of Iola, Kansas, died Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Frances was born March 22, 1926, at Humboldt, Kansas, the daughter of Robert Maxwell and Ethel Eva (King) Lindsey. She grew up at Humboldt and graduated from Humboldt High School. She married Evan Dean Tweedy and they made their home in Iola most of their lives. He preceded her in death on April 16, 1978. Frances was an avid bowler and participated in several bowling organizations and numerous functions. VISITATION: 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2009, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2009, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. The Chaplain Lloyd W. Houk will officiate.
