Frank W. Harner, age 94, of rural Humboldt, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018, at Chanute, Kansas. Frank was the youngest of eight children born to Frank F. and Emma (Dietrich) Harner. He was born on December 7, 1923, at Humboldt, where he remained a lifetime resident of the area. Frank lived on the family farm southeast of town where he was a farmer and stockman. He also worked in the local oil fields, as well as operating his own oil leases. His family loved music and they were all talented at playing many different musical instruments. Frank enjoyed playing the violin and often reminisced about their band at Oakland School. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leo, Merle, Ralph and (infant) Christian; sisters, Emma Stover, Agnes Hansen and Caroline Hardin. Frank's survivors include many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his trusty dog, Snoopy. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 18, 2018, following a Parish Rosary at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Humboldt, where Frank was a lifelong member.
