Frank Stahl

Frank R. Stahl, age 95, of Westphalia, Kansas passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Sunset Manor in Waverly, Kansas. Frank was born December 10, 1919 at Westphalia, Kansas, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Brand) Stahl. Frank was a lifetime resident of the Westphalia community where he was a member of the St. Teresa Church. On April 30, 1940 Frank married Kathryn M. Lalman at Westphalia. This union was blessed with 10 children. Frank was a lifelong farmer; he also held a few jobs off of the farm, most notably, working as a mechanic at International Tractor in Garnett and for the Anderson County Road Department. Frank enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kathryn on January 29, 1998; two sisters, Helena Stahl and an infant sister; and two sons, Edward and Robert Stahl; two granddaughters, Shawna Stahl and Kristine Nietz; and one grandson, Russell Stahl. Frank is survived by his children, John and wife, Donna, of Williamsburg, Kansas, Donna Henderson of Topeka, Kansas, Bill Stahl and wife, Anita, of Branson, Missouri, Steve Stahl and companion, Rosemary Hughes, of Burlington, Kansas, Patty Nietz and husband, Bill, of Panama City Beach, Florida, Doris Slater and husband, Tom, of Atlanta, Georgia, Jim Stahl and wife, Tamara, of Topeka, Kansas, and David Stahl and wife, Denice, of LaHarpe, Kansas; 19 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the St. Teresa Church, burial will follow in the St. Teresa Cemetery, Westphalia. The family will greet friends following a 7:00 PM rosary on Monday evening at the church.
