Gary Pierson

Gary E. Pierson, 49, of LaHarpe, Kansas, died Friday, March 20, 2015, at the home of his sister in Hartford, Kansas, where he had be residing the past 6 months due to health issues. Gary was born September 6, 1965, in Iola, Kansas, the son of Warren Mark and Easter Frances (Head) Pierson. He grew up in LaHarpe, graduated from Iola High School, Allen County Community College and attended both Pittsburg State University and Emporia State University working towards his Master's in computer science. While in Pittsburg he pledged Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. Gary worked at IBP in Emporia, Gates in Iola and was currently working in the automotive department at the Iola Walmart. He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. SURVIVORS: 2 Brothers: Steven Mark Pierson of Mexico, MO and Randy Pierson of Emporia, KS 1 Sister: Rhonda Staggs of Hartford, KS 6 Nieces & Nephews: T.J. Staggs, Matthew Staggs, Stephanie Henderson, Tara Pierson, Christopher Pierson and Randielle Pierson. 9 Great Nieces and Great Nephews He was preceded in death by his parents. VISITATION & SERVICE: Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 27, 2015, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola, with visitation prior to the service.
