George Abbe

James George Abbe, 73, of Iola, died Monday at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita. George was born April 10, 1940, at Colony, Kansas, the son of Clarence and Ellen (Vanderslice)Abbe. He worked construction, and had been employed at Walton Foundry, Tyson Foods and Berg Manufacturing in Iola over the years. SURVIVORS: 1 Daughter: Sherry Dawn Abbe of Pittsburg, KS 3 Brothers: Carl Abbe and Richard Abbe both of Iola, and Albert Abbe of Independence, KS He was preceded in death by an infant son, James George Abbe, Jr. Cremation has taken place. MEMORIAL GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 1:00 p.m., Wed., Feb. 19, 2014, at the old Iola Cemetery. Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, assisted the family.
