George H. Lafferty

George H. Lafferty, Jr., age 76, of Iola, Kansas, passed away September 26, 2021, at his residence. George was born August 15, 1945, in Fort Sumner, New Mexico, to George H. Lafferty, Sr. and Louise (Mutelepasse) Lafferty.

George earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. George was assistant chief of police in the 1970s for the Humboldt Police Department, Humboldt, Kansas. George is a published author of western books and science fiction books. His pride and joy was being an outlaw gunfighter in Oatman, Arizona.

George enjoyed fishing, reading, music, and anything cowboy.

George was preceded in death by his parents.

George is survived by his wife, Linda, Rogers, Arkansas; son, Gregg Lafferty, Humboldt, Kansas; daughter, Roxanne Scheimann (Brian), Iola, Kansas; and grandchildren, Matthew Lafferty (Kelsey), Iola, Kansas, Jeremiah Scheimann, Langley, Oklahoma, Molly Scheimann, Iola, Kansas, Katie Scheimann, Iola, Kansas, Christopher Callies (Laura), Muncie, Indiana; and great grandson, Logan Callies, Muncie, Indiana.

Cremation will take place. No services are planned.
