George "Bud" Tush, Jr., age 72, of Iola, Kansas, died October 15, 2008, at KU Medical Center. George was born on March 26, 1936, the son of George Tush, Sr. and Mary Ann (Kueser) Tush, at Garnett, Kansas. The family lived in the Joplin area, until returning to Garnett during his high school years. He graduated from Welda High School in 1956. Following high school he lived and worked in Garnett. He later moved to Welda, working for City Service Gas. Following his retirement from City Service, George founded GEO Oil and Gas, producing oil and gas in the Iola area. George enjoyed KU basketball and football, he loved playing cards, hunting, trapping and fishing, but work remained his main hobby. He was united in marriage to Jacquelyn Jean Sutton on December 5, 1958, in Garnett, Kansas. Four sons were born to this union. They later divorced. George was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Ann Tush; one grandson, Ronald Tush Jr.; and one sister, Shirley Watt. He is survived by four sons, Ronald Tush and wife Mary of Iola, Kansas; Terry Tush of Spokane, Washington; Michael Tush and David Tush, both of Iola, Kansas; three brothers, Gordon Tush of Lincoln, Nebraska; Rick Tush and wife Nancy of Eureka, Kansas; Daryll Tush and wife Sue of Folsom, California; two sisters, Karen Meliza and husband Oliver of Iola, Kansas; Sharon Tush of Wadsworth, Nevada; three grandchildren, Casey Tush, Kathy Tush, and Paige Tush. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Monday, October 20, 2008, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas. Burial will be in the Welda Cemetery in Welda, Kansas. The family will be present to greet friends at a visitation from 5:00 to 6:00 PM on Sunday, October 19, 2008, at the funeral home in Garnett. Memorial contributions may be made to the Welda Community Building.
