Gerald "Jerry" Anderson

Gerald "Jerry" Anderson passed away at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute, Kansas on Monday, December 23, 2024 at the age of 70, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on March 9, 1954, in Iola, Kansas, he was the oldest of three sons to Glen and Suan Anderson. He graduated from Iola High School.

On March 10, 2001, Jerry married Charlene (Evenson) Anderson, the love of his life. Their 23-year marriage was filled with devotion to each other, laughter, and shared adventures such as riding in big rigs across the country and flying in a small airplane. They enjoyed every morning reading God's Word together. They were a blessing to each other.

Growing up Jerry enjoyed working alongside his dad and brother as a plumber. He also was a truck driver for many years. Later on in his life, Jerry drove a school bus for Special Education. He loved the little children on his route.

He was a member of Trinity Methodist Church of Iola, Kansas. He enjoyed NHRA racing, football and K-State basketball.

Jerry is preceded in death by brother, Stanton and his parents Glen and Suan Anderson.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Charlene Anderson; his caring brother, Ken Anderson (Marlene); his cherished nephews and niece Aaron, Nick (Becky), Eric, Shannon (Joey), and Michael (Kristen) and his great niece and nephews Samuel, Noah, Aubree and August. He loved sharing stories and pictures of them.

In accordance with Jerry's wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services. A Celebration of Life will be held in April at the Santa Fe Lake, Chanute, Ks 66720.

He was a special person, who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
