Dutch Onnen

Gerhard Eilers (Dutch) Onnen, Jr., age 88, of Humboldt, Kansas, passed away January 10, 2023, at Saint Luke's South, Overland Park, Kansas. Dutch was born September 11, 1934, in Hebron, Nebraska, to Gerhard E. Onnen, Sr. and Rexta (Free) Onnen.
Dutch graduated in 1951 from Hebron High School, Hebron, Nebraska. Dutch served in the United States Navy. He worked for the railroad in various positions.
Dutch and Mary Ann Beutler were married July 7, 1956, in Hebron, Nebraska.
Dutch enjoyed working and was known as always being busy. He was an outdoorsman and he kept busy with all of his outdoor activities. He and Mary Ann liked to travel.
Dutch was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
Dutch is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, of the home; children, Dane (Janet) Onnen, Yates Center, Kansas, Daniel (Laura) Onnen, Humboldt, Kansas, Dannon (Sherrie) Onnen, Waverly, Kansas; twelve grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; brother, Tony Onnen; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Cremation will take place and no services are planned at this time.
Memorials are suggested to Wounded Warriors, and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas.
