Gladys Hodges, age 85, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Allen County Regional Hospital in Iola, Kansas.
Gladys was born May 11, 1936, to Charles and Julia (Sallada) Hollingsworth in Denver, Colorado. She graduated high school in Denver, Colorado. Gladys married Robert "Bob" Hodges on March 25, 1972, in Arvada, Colorado. She was a homemaker for the majority of her life.
Family was very important to Gladys. She loved to spend time with all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler. Every Saturday night when the grandkids were growing up, they met for dinner and played cards. As she got older, they began getting together on Friday nights with family and friends. The entire family would gather in the backyard to hang out and play games as well. Gladys also loved to travel and spend time with her sister-in-laws. She was affectionately known as "Grandma Bob" by her great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kindness, patience, and generous spirit.
Gladys is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Hodges; parents, Charles and Julia Hollingsworth; sister, Delores May Elder; grandchildren, Skyler Leroy Clark Jr., Brayden Michael Berthot, and Jennifer Kay Pruemer.
Gladys is survived by four children, Jane Jennings and husband, Greg, of Johnday, Oregon, Gladys Clark and husband, Skyler, of Iola, Kansas, Ed Hodges and wife, Misty, of Madison, Kentucky, and Erwin McCulloch and wife, Janelle, of Effingham, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
