Glen B. Peterson

Glen B. Peterson, age 89, of Welda, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2010, at the Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Kansas. Glen was born on September 21, 1920, at Glenburn, North Dakota, the son of Carl E. and Mary Ellen (Johnson) Peterson. Glen graduated from Welda High School and he also attended Allen County Community College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for several different farmers in the area; and carried mail from the Post Office to the railroad cars at Welda. Glen raised a big garden yearly, and he liked to plant young trees around Welda for people. Glen was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Milo Peterson, Landis Peterson, Vern Peterson; and one sister, Fern Peterson. He is survived by nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at the Welda Cemetery in Welda, Kansas.
