Glenn H. Aydelotte, 80, of Iola, Kansas, died Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at his home. Glenn was born August 18, 1930, at Del Norte, Colorado, the son of Ernest and Alice Lenora (Goodwin) Aydelotte. He graduted from Del Norte High School and joined the United States Navy. He served during the Korean War and in Vietnam. Glenn retired as a chief aviation machinist after 22 years of service. Glenn was married to Maudine Stephens on September 2, 1950. They were divorced after 47 years of marriage. He worked for 6 years as a mechanic in the oil fields in New Mexico and then as a heavy equipment operator for Lea County, New Mexico before retiring in 1995. On April 7, 2005, Glenn married Mae Jones Paxson and they made their home in Iola. He was a member of the Iola Baptist Temple and the Iola American Legion. SURVIVORS: His wife: Mae Jones Aydelotte of the home 2 Daughters: Sheila Williamson & husband, Jerry of Midland, TX and DeeAnn Gibbs & husband, Neal of Las Cruces, NM 4 Step-Sons: Robert E. Jones & wife, Shyrell, Steven Jones, Richard "Bud" Jones & wife, Jeri, and Tim Jones all of Iola, KS 1 Brother: John Aydelotte of Oregon 4 Grandchildren: Christopher, Michelle, Melissa & Kristen 4 Great Grandchildren with one on the way He was preceded in death by a grandson, Dustin Ornelas. Cremation has taken place. GRAVESIDE INURNMENT SERVICE: 1:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at the Fort Scott National Cemetery in Ft. Scott, KS The Rev. Roger Collins will officiate. MEMORIAL: Iola Baptist Temple Memorial gifts may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangements.
