Grace D. Cardell

Grace Diane Cardell, age 68, of Richmond, Kansas, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019, at her home. She was born on January 1, 1951, in Topeka, Kansas. Grace was the youngest of seven children born to Glen and Faye (Boose) Robuck.  Grace graduated from Lecompton High School in 1968. Grace was united in marriage to Robert Cardell on December 15, 1967, in Topeka, Kansas.  This union was blessed with two children, Robbie and Diana.  The couple first made their life together in Lawrence, Kansas before moving to Garnett, Kansas in 1969.  In 1971 they moved to Richmond, where they remained until Grace’s passing. Grace worked as a CNA at the Richmond Nursing Home before going to work at HD Lee and Warner Manufacturing.  She retired from Hasty Awards in Ottawa. Grace enjoyed crocheting and knitting, making several baby blankets for family and friends.  She also enjoyed fishing, and being outdoors, tending her flowers and feeding her birds. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Faye Robuck; two brothers Oris and Melvin Robuck; and two sisters Agatha Holloway and Marsha Slater. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Bob Cardell, of the home; son, Robbie Cardell and wife, Mindy of Richmond, Kansas; daughter, Diana Ecord and husband, Randy of Pomona, Kansas; five grandchildren, Tyler and wife Destiny, Megan and Wesley Ecord, Shelby and Nash Cardell; and two great grandchildren, Lyric Huckins and Wakely Ecord; sister, Chalice Elliott of Monte Vista, Colorado; and one brother, Jim Robuck and wife, Charlene of Topeka, Kansas. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 22, 2019, at the Richmond Cemetery, Richmond, Kansas.  Grace’s family will greet friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Garnett, Kansas.  Memorial contributions may be made to Franklin County Cancer Society and left in care of the funeral home.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.feuerbornfuneral.com .
