Grayce M. Spencer, age 92, passed away at Allen County Regional Hospital in Iola, Kansas on February 23, 2023. Grayce Marie Wycoff was born on November 10,1930, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born to Jesse Fletcher Wycoff and Grace G. Dixon.
Grayce grew up on a farm and graduated from Welda High School in 1948. Following high school, Grayce attended the University of Kansas where she obtained her Bachelors in Music Education.
On August 30, 1953, Grayce married Ivan Ray Spencer in Garnett, Kansas. Their union was blessed with three children, Steve Spencer, Randy Spencer, and Mary Spencer.
Grayce was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Ivan; and her parents.
She is survived by her three children, Randy Spencer and wife Debra of Edmond, Oklahoma, Steve Spencer and wife Rexine (Nelson) of Thayer, Kansas, and Mary Spencer and husband Steven Laverty of Afton, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Kelly Spencer of Denver, Colorado, Joshua Spencer of Las Vegas, Nevada, Sean Spencer and wife Chloe of Wichita, Kansas, Brooklyn and husband Wes Streeter of Pittsburg, KS, Kirstin and husband Terek Wilson of Leawood, Kansas, Hunter Spencer and his wife Asya Herron of Overland Park, Kansas, Bryce Smith and his wife Tiffany (Spencer) of Brighton, Colorado, and Kathryn Smith and her husband Christian Garcia-Diaz of Greeley, Colorado ; eleven great-grandchildren, Myra, Nova, Thea, Truitt, and Meritt Spencer of Wichita, Kansas, Addilyn and Audrina Streeter of Pittsburg, Kansas, Parker and Kylie Wilson of Leawood, Kansas, and Calum and Hendrix Spencer of Overland Park, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews.
Grayce's family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 8, 2023, in The Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M, on Thursday, March 9, 2023, in the chapel at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service. Burial will follow in the DeWitt Cemetery, Humboldt, Kansas.
Memorial contributions to The Grayce Spencer Music Scholarship Fund at Marmaton Valley High School may be left in care of Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
