Harlan Cleaver, age 79, passed away peacefully March 1, 2023 at his home in Iola, Kansas.
Harlan was born September 10, 1943 to Harlan and Georgia (Fitzpatrick) Cleaver in Iola, Kansas. Harlan attended school in LaHarpe, Kansas and graduated with the class of 1961. After graduating he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Korea. Harlan served three years and then was honorably discharged. He returned home and met his future wife Becky Catron. They were united in marriage on February 14, 1966 in Iola, Kansas. This union was blessed with three children.
Harlan was a very hard worker in his life. He dedicated 57 years to Columbia Metal as the Plant Manager. In his free time, he had a passion for fishing and dirt track racing. Harlan had a great love for his children, grandchildren and his dogs, they held a great piece of his heart.
Harlan is preceded in death by his parents.
Harlan is survived by his wife of 57 years, Becky, of the home; his children Jeff (Susan) of Iola, Kansas, Kathy(Travis) Weseloh of Iola, Kansas, Dallas of Iola, Kansas; sister Sandy Marvin of Iola, Kansas; seven grandchildren; one great-grand daughter born one day after Harlan's passing; along with numerous other family members and friends.
The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday March 12, 2023 at The Venue, Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 Hwy 54, Iola, Kansas. A graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday March 13, 2023 at the Highland Cemetery in Iola, Kansas.
