Harold Deemer

Harold F. Deemer, age 75, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at his home. He was born on October 11, 1935, in Ravenna, Ohio, the son of Alva H. and Sarah L. (Kellar) Deemer. Harold married the love of his life, Barbara Griffith, on December 16, 1955 in Orange, Texas. Their devotion to one another was evident by their 56 year marriage. He was a strong and independent man who prided himself in taking care of the ones he loved. He drew his strength from our Lord Jesus Christ as he strived to walk in His ways. They were blessed with 7 children; 40 grandchildren; and 33 great grandchildren. Harold served in the Air Force for 10 years, which took him to Europe, Germany, Greenland, Scotland, Spain and also 49 of the 50 states. After his time in the service, he became a master mechanic, working in this field for about 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alva and Sarah Deemer; his wife, Barbara Deemer on April 13, 2011; and his brother, Alva H. Deemer, Jr. Harold is survived by three sons, Jack Deemer and wife Teresa of Gardner, Kansas; Harold Deemer Jr. and wife Shirley of Overland Park, Kansas; John Deemer and wife Susan of Hillsboro, Oregon; four daughters, Barbara K. Scobee of Princeton, Kansas; Debbie Wachtell of Olathe, Kansas; Brenda Stewart and husband C.J. of Olathe, Kansas; Susan Records and husband Daniel of Olathe, Kansas; two sisters, Dolly Shanley and Candy Ryan; three brothers; Bill Deemer, Donald Deemer and David Deemer. Visitation will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, September 27, 2011, with services following at 11:00 am. at Sharon Baptist Church, 13020 S. Black Bob Rd, Olathe, Kansas.
