Helen I. Gadelman

Helen Gadelman, age 93, of Katy, Texas, passed away on June 1, 2012 at Memorial Herman Katy Nursing Facility in Katy, Texas. She was born on February 10, 1919, in Garnett, Kansas, the daughter of William and Celesta (Jones) Gadelman. She graduated from Garnett High School in 1937. After graduating, she worked in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a legal secretary. She then moved to Houston, Texas in the early 1940's, where she worked as a legal secretary for Standard Oil for over 30 years before retiring. After retirement she spent her time traveling. Helen enjoyed photography, traveling and playing the piano. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Doris Norton, Mary Ellsworth and Jean Phillips; and two brothers, Milo Gadelman and William Gadelman. Helen is survived by nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at the Garnett Cemetery, Garnett, Kansas.
