Helen Rockers, age 97, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on November 25, 2022 at Parkview Heights.
Helen was born on January 9, 1925 in Garnett, Kansas. She was one of eleven children born to G.M. Tush and Mary La Pearl (Weiland) Tush. Helen married Emmett Platt, their union was blessed with one son, Kenneth, and Emmett's son, Clark. Emmett passed away on July 5, 1969. Helen later married Merle Rockers on September 3, 1971 at Garnett. They enjoyed fifty years of marriage, Merle passed away on March 31, 2021.
Helen was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the VFW Auxiliary for many years. She was an active member of the Glenloch township committee, working countless elections and helping with the school house preservation and the cemetery maintenance. Helen loved to get together with her family and catch up on all the news. No visitor to Helen's house ever left hungry, she loved taking care of people.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, George, Bill, Tucker, and Ebbie; six sisters, Leota, Vera, Mary Lee, Martina, Irma, and Cora B.; two husbands; son, Kenneth Platt on November 26, 2021; and step son, Clark Platt on March 30, 2016.
Helen is survived by nine grandchildren, Scott, Shelly Barnes, Danny, Debbie, Michelle, Glen, Ronnie, Carol, and Ray; 13 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; two daughters in law, Linda Platt and Mary Ann Platt; and many nieces and nephews.
Services for Helen will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service - Garnett with Fr. Daniel Stover officiating. Burial will follow in the Garnett Cemetery. Helen's family will greet friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at the funeral home in Garnett.
