Herman Delose Jackman, 91, of Moran, Kansas, died Friday, February 19, 2010 at his home. Herman was born to Henry Herman and Cecil Faye (Pope) Jackman on August 22, 1918 in Gas, Kansas. He attended Gas and Iola schools. As a young man he worked for Pet Milk Company. He operated Jackman Brothers Construction for most of his adult life. In later years he worked for Klein Tool, Inc. retiring in 1987. Herman enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapshooting. On July 17, 1938 Herman married Florence Alliene Gay. She preceded him in death on October 29, 2008. SURVIVORS: 8 Children: Dale (Elaine) Jackman of LaHarpe, KS, Donna (Otis) Smith of Moran, Janet (Bob) Houk of Moran, Jerry Jackman of Moran, Henry (Connie) Jackman of Moran, Barbara Stotler of Iola, Betty (Howard) Randall of Ottawa and Mike (Jennifer) Jackman of Elsmore 1 Sister: Elnora Stanley of Humboldt, KS 1 Brother: Marvin Jackman of Moran, KS 24 Grandchildren, 50 Great Grandchildren and 12 Great Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by five grandchildren, Jennifer Hale, Terri Houk Wagner, Greg Jackman, Ryan Jackman and Michael Laver. Cremation has taken place. GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at the Moran Cemetery with Chaplain Lloyd Houk officiating.
