Herschel Perry, age 86, passed away on November 23, 2019.
Herschel was born in Colbert, Oklahoma to Henry and Viola Perry on November 15, 1933. He graduated from high school in Ivanhoe, Texas. In 1952 Herschel moved to Iola from Ivanhoe, Texas. He served in the US Army from 1955 to 1957. On June 5, 1954, Herschel married Barbara Perry at Gas City, Kansas. They made their home in Iola where Herschel and Barbara owned and operated Perry's Restaurant on the west side of the square in Iola for a number of years. Hershel also owned and operated Perry's refrigeration in Iola.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Viola Perry; three brothers and three sisters.
Herschel is survived by his wife of 65 years. Barbara of Iola and nieces and nephews.
Services for Herschel Perry will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 27 at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Chapel, 1883 US Hwy 54, Iola, Kansas 66749 with Reverend Dr. Jocelyn Tupper officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery, Iola, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to A.C.A.R.F. (Allen County Animal Rescue Foundation) and left in care of the funeral home.
