Hope DeLayne Burns, age 71, of Kincaid, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at her home. She was born on June 17, 1946, in Greeley, Colorado, the daughter of Roy and Laura (Hewitt) Scroggins. Hope married the love of her life, Terry E. Burns, on October 1, 1961. Together they raised three children and had a wonderful life together. They had several businesses together over the years. Hope enjoyed the dairy and dog kennel the most. Terry liked being a truck driver and enjoyed the dairy life too. They lived in Colorado until the late 80's and then moved to the Moran, Kansas area. They bought a farm and lived there until Terry died. Hope sold the farm and bought a house in Kincaid, Kansas, where she lived until her death. Hope was preceded in death by her husband, Terry E. Burns; her son, Terry R. Burns; her sister, Rosemary Eagleston; and both of her parents. She is survived by her two daughters, Laury Kildahl of Eaton, Colorado, and Stella Burns of Kincaid, Kansas; sister, Jody Naverrete of Platteville, Colorado; brother, Sheldon Carsten of Calhan, Colorado; nine grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren; her uncle, Jimmy Hewitt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
