Hope Smith

Hope Smith, 95, of Moran, Kansas, died Thursday, June 10, 2010, at the Moran Manor. Hope was born May 29, 1915, at Moran, Kansas, the daughter of J.E. and Ethyl B. (Smith) Williams. She grew up on the family farm northwest of Moran. On March 1, 1934, Hope married Arno Smith and they farmed west of Moran. He preceded her in death on September 18, 1975. She was a homemaker and rode tractors all of her life. SURVIVORS: Her son: Donald Smith and his wife, Myrlanne of Moran, Kansas 5 Grandchildren: Joey Smith and Jim Smith both of Broken Arrow, OK, Carla Hufferd and husband, Bruce of Stuart, TX and Lisa Smith and Julie Ramsey and husband, Chet all of Fritch, TX 10 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren 2 Step-Grandchildren: Gabe Gregg and Kim Gregg 5 Step-Great Grandchildren and 1 Step-Great Great Grandchild Cremation has taken place. Private family inurnment will take place in the Moran Cemetery at a later date. Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, is in charge of arrangements.
