Howard W. Baker, 88, of rural Moran, Kansas, died Sunday, January 17, 2010, at the Moran Manor Nursing Center. Howard was born September 9, 1921, in rural Moran, the son of Ernest and Bess (Hunting) Baker. He grew up on the farm at Moran. On June 24, 1945, Howard married Dorothy J. Ericson at Friends Home Lutheran Church at Savonburg, Kansas. They have always made their home on the farm. He was a member of the Moran Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed reading, listening to music and attending his grandchildren's ballgames. SURVIVORS: His Wife: Dorothy J. Baker of the home 4 Children: Linda Olen & husband, Ken of Farmington, Michigan, Greg Baker & wife, Jeanette of Concord, California, John Baker & wife, Lydia of Iola, Kansas, and Joseph W. Baker & wife, Alice of Dallas, Georgia 5 Grandchildren: Jessica & Mark Meredith, Justin & Maria Baker and Jesse Baker 2 Step-Grandchildren: Shannon Knause and Billie Jo Parrish He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold E. Baker. Cremation has taken place. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. The Rev. Susan Rosenbaum and the Rev.
