Howard Campbell

Howard Wayne Campbell, III, age 51, of Chanute, Kansas, formerly of Iola, died Sunday, October 23, 2011, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute. Howard was born February 26, 1960, at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, the son of Bert and Elizabeth "Betty" (Shoemaker) Campbell. He grew up in Arkansas and graduated from high school at Rogers, Arkansas. He moved to Iola in 1993 from Arkansas. Howard married Dorothy Peterson and they had two children and later divorced. He married Mary P. (Shumate) Bailey and she survives at Humboldt. Other survivors include 2 children, Daniel Campbell and Ashley Campbell both of Iola, 2 step-daughters, Rosie Bailey and Jenny Bailey both of Humboldt, his mother and step-father, Betty and Harold Stengel of Altoona, Pennsylvania, a brother, Allan Campbell & wife, Tammy of Farmington, KS, 3 sisters, Gaylene Campbell and Paula McElhannon both of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Sherylene Gabbard & husband, Arnold of Springdale, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his father, Bert Campbell. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
