Ina Mae Ransom, 85, of Iola, Kansas, died Monday, November 21, 2011, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center St. Francis Campus in Wichita. Ina Mae was born August 28, 1926, at Colony, Kansas, the daughter of Clarence Otto and Verda Delores (Nickels) Belvoir. She grew up in the Colony area. On August 27, 1944, Ina Mae married James Harlen Atkins, Jr. at Yates Center, Kansas. They made their home in Iola. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1946. She married Carl Ransom and they made their home in Oregon and Washington before he preceded her in death. Ina Mae moved back to Kansas in 1979 to take care of her mother until she passed in 1984. For many years after that she took care of her friends and family and took them to doctor appointments and hospital stays. She and Gerald Luther Boyer were married in 1984 and they made their home in Colony. He died in 1999. Ina Mae was a member of TOPS and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed working puzzles. SURVIVORS: Two Grandchildren: Cindy (Atkins) Newland and her husband Mark and their kids Dannette and Dylan of Iola, KS, and James Harlen Atkins IV of Oklahoma Two Brothers: Maynard Belvoir & wife, Illa of Colony, KS, and Robert (Bob) Belvoir of Payette, ID Several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her son, James Harlen Atkins III in 2002, her brother Howard Belvoir, and sisters Pauline Heinrich and Madge Chrisman. VISITATION: 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2011, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 26, 2011, at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Iola. Rev. Trudy Kenyon Anderson will officiate.
