Ione Viola Anderson

Ione Viola Anderson of Colony, Kansas, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2009. She was born on April 12, 1919 in Colony, Kansas, the last daughter of Albert and Mary Susana (Stephen) Payne, and spent early life at Colony and the surrounding areas of Mildred and Iola. She married Harold Anderson of Iola on March 18, 1936, and later moved to Lawrence, Kansas. Ione was a homemaker who loved to cook. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Although they had no children, children were usually in their home. They were also past members of Ada Chapter No. 7- O.E.S. of Lawrence. Ione was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers and two sisters. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 9, 2009 in the Colony Cemetery. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to help defray funeral expenses.
