Ithyl Newman

Ithyl L. Newman, 88, passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at Windsor Place in Iola. She was born Aug. 10, 1926, in Elvins, MO. Ithyl worked for many years at the Iola IGA and was known by many in the community. She married Johnie Newman in Birmingham, Ala., on July 17, 2002. In 1974 Ithyl was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 12 years, Johnie Newman; her sisters, Doris Headrick, Melvine Headrick, Hazel Wengert and her twin brother, Ivan (Bud) Lands. She is survived by her son, Herschel (Steve) Sejnoha, granddaughter, Victoria Sejnoha-Vargas, and great-granddaughter Corianna Sejnoha-Vargas, all of Tuscon, Ariz.; as well as many nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Ithyl will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Gas.
