Ivan C. Elliott, 90, of Iola, Kansas, died Sunday, May 31, 2015, at Windsor Place Nursing Center in Iola. Ivan was born September 20, 1924, in Chanute, Kansas, the son of John Junior and Martha Ellen (Smith) Elliott. He grew up in eastern Neosho County and served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946. He made his home in Ogden, Utah for a number of years where he worked as a machinist for United Airlines. Ivan moved to Iola 13 years ago to make his home. He was a member of Community Baptist Church and the Iola American Legion. SURVIVORS: Companion: Vera Hunt of Iola, KS 1 Son: Bill Elliott of Washington State 1 Sister: Betty Clements of St. Paul, KS A number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty, brothers Marvin & Jerold Elliott, Sr., and sister Julia Stout Shores.
