Ivan E Trester Sr.

Ivan Earl Trester Sr., age 74, of Iola, Kansas passed away Friday, July 5, 2019, at Richmond Healthcare in Richmond, Kansas. Ivan was born February 24, 1945, in Iola to Bert and Maxine (Sheer) Trester.  Ivan worked for and retired from Allen Community College as a Maintenance Technician. He loved horses, wagons and trail rides throughout the four state area. Ivan found his real true love in his late wife Sharon. He was good at carpentry and electrical work. Ivan was very easy going and never knew a stranger.  Ivan was preceded in death by his parents; wife Sharon (Burkholder) Trester; one stepson Mike Barns; one brother Jerry Trester; and one sister Beverly Hoddy. Ivan is survived by one son Ivan E. “Peanut” Trester Jr.; two daughters Teressa Trester and Robin Jackson; one stepson Jeffery Burkholder; two step daughters Teresa Lindabury and Sherry Valadez; nine grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; multiple great-grandchildren; five brothers and sisters Carl Trester, Larry Trester, Gary Trester, Judy Burkholder, and Sharon Trester; a special nephew Craig Trester and many other nephews, nieces and many other relatives. A memorial service for Ivan will be held Friday, July 12, 2019, at 1:00 P.M. at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service 1883 US-Hwy 54 Iola, Kansas. Family will greet friends Thursday, July 11, 2019, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in the Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service. Inurnment at Fairview Cemetery in Mildred will take place at a later date. Memorials in honor of Ivan can be made to Allen County Animal Rescue Facility and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
