Jack L. Ensminger, age 93, of Moran, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at the Allen County Regional Hospital, Iola, Kansas. Jack was the first of two sons born to Charles and Margaret (Larkey) Ensminger. He was born on March 13, 1924 at Moran, Kansas. Jack lived his entire life on the family farm northwest of Moran. He graduated from Moran High School with the class of 1942. Following high school, Jack was drafted into the US Army. He was a World War II veteran, serving in Europe. He returned to Moran following the war, where he began farming, Jack remained in charge until the day he died. On December 25, 1960 Jack was united in marriage to Marjorie Woodward at the Methodist Church in Bronson, Kansas. This union was blessed with two children, Jacque and Brad. Jack was an active member of the Presbyterian Church, serving in many roles in the church. He was a 70 year member of the Moran American Legion, and a 65 year member of the Marmaton Lodge #245, Moran, he was also a member of the Moran Ruritan. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marjorie on November 9, 2009; and one brother, Don Ensminger. He is survived by one son, Brad Ensminger of Moran, Kansas; one daughter, Jacque Ensminger of Iola, Kansas; four grandchildren, Wesley McFadden and wife, Marah of New Brunswick, New Jersey, Luke McFadden of Iola, Lisa McFadden of Overland Park, Kansas, and Mark McFadden of Iola, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church at Iola, Kansas, burial will follow at the Moran Cemetery, Moran, Kansas. The family will be present to greet friends on Wednesday evening, November 29, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Iola from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
