Jack H. McBride, 68, of Moran, Kansas, died Monday, October 10, 2011, at the Allen County Hospital in Iola, Kansas. Jack was born November 25, 1942, in Texarkana, Texas, the son of John Henry and Vila Mae (Farren) McBride. He grew up in Texas and married Ruth Alred and they were later divorced. He served in the United States Air Force. Following his military duty, he married Janet McAloon on May 4, 1964. They made their home in Texas for five years before moving to Moran, Kansas where they have lived since. He worked in the oil fields around Moran before going to work for the City of Moran where he worked 10 years before retiring. He recently worked part-time cutting meat for Stub's Market in Moran. Jack was a member of the American Legion in Moran and Chanute Elks Lodge. His favorite pasttime was shooting trap. FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2011, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. Chaplain Lloyd W. Houk will officiate.
