James L. "Jim" Burton, 75, of Gas, Kansas, died Friday, May 18, 2012, at his home. Jim was born May 12, 1937, at Caney, Kansas, the son of Robert McHenry and Evelyn Rose (Holeman) Burton. He grew up in Humboldt, Kansas. On May 28, 1957, Jim married Dannie Darlene Wilson and they made their home in Gas for eight years before moving to Hutchinson. They returned to this area in 1997 to live and have made their home in Gas since 2000. His working years were spent doing foundry work and he enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the First Assembly Of God Church in Iola. Scott, KS, Edward Burton of Milwaukee, WI, Jack Burton of Paola, KS, Fred Burton and Charles Burton both of Iola, KS 1 Sister: Betty Smart of Nowata, OK 10 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by a son, Jamie Leon Burton, brother Robert Burton, sister Rose, step-brother Willard Burton and step-sister Betty Culler. VISITATION: 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, May 21, 2012, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at the funeral home.
