James A. Wycoff, age 83, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016, at Olathe, Kansas. He was born December 26, 1932, at Cedar County, Missouri. Jim was the third of four children born to Jessie Fletcher and Grace G. (Dixon) Wycoff. He graduated from Welda High School, Welda, Kansas. Jim served in the U.S. Army from 1953 until 1956. He is a veteran of the Korean War during which he was stationed in Africa. He was member of the American Legion for more than 50 years in Iola, Kansas. Jim was united in marriage to Vella May Yoho. This union was blessed with three children. They made their home in Osawatomie, Kansas where he worked with his parents in their Western Auto business. Jim was a natural born "fixer" but he specialized in TV, radio, and small appliance repairs. He also enjoyed working on cars. He was a man that believed in working hard every day; this was also evident in the pride he showed in caring for his yard and his home. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Vella May Wycoff; a stillborn son, David Lynn Wycoff in 1958; his parents, Jessie Fletcher and Grace G. Wycoff; a brother, Jessie Charles Wycoff in 2013; and a great grandson, stillborn, Elijah Gayle Wycoff on June 16, 2006. He is survived by his son, Curtis Wycoff and wife, Kaye, of Paola, Kansas and daughter, Cindy Wycoff of Olathe, Kansas; brother, Billy Joe Wycoff of Demming, New Mexico; sister, Grayce Marie Spencer of Moran, Kansas; 6 grandchildren, Amanda Jo Wilson, Charles Stokes, Jennifer Yeager, Micheal Wycoff, Melissa Smith, Kasandra Davis; 21 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, May 13, 2016, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Garnett. Burial with military honors will follow in the Garnett Cemetery.
