Jeff Reed, age 55, of Princeton, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at his home.
Jeffrey Allen Reed was born on August 27, 1966, in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Ray C. Reed and Kay (Leecy) and Mark Todd. Jeff grew up in Ottawa and graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1984. In 1996 Jeff married Debbie Ferguson, their union was blessed with two sons, Cole and Brock. They later divorced. Jeff was united in marriage to Ronda Cochran-Imel on March 26, 2010, in Miami, Oklahoma. They made their home in Princeton.
Jeff spent the majority of his working years, working in and around Franklin County. Some of his work included working as a heavy equipment operator and a truck driver before going to work for Franklin County, working as a jailer, then in the maintenance department and lastly in the recycling facility.
Jeff was perhaps a time traveler trapped in the wrong century. He was possibly better suited for life in the 1800's where he could enjoy horses, guns and his whiskey. Further proof of this could be seen through his mechanical skills, as they were more adequate for a buggy than a car. He loved getting to see his sons on the football field at the same time. Jeff enjoyed spending time with his dogs and cherished them for their unconditional love and companionship.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Randy Reed; and a sister, Julie Todd.
He is survived by his wife, Ronda Reed, of the home; two sons, Cole Reed of Newton, Kansas and Brock Reed of Richmond, Kansas; two stepsons, Matt Imel and wife, Erin, of Tolar, Texas; Josh Imel and wife, Amber, of Cheyenne, Wyoming; four grandchildren, Merritt, Senne, Colten and Jan; sister, Lori Skilling and husband, Wes, of Vassar, Kansas; two brothers, Tony Reed and wife, Cathy, of Overland Park, Kansas, and Mike Todd of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and five nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 2, 2022, in the Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to Prairie Paws Animal Shelter and left in care of the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be left at
