Jerry Milligan was born on July 25, 1950 in Seymour, Missouri, to Claude Reed Milligan and Eunice Loretta Miller Milligan, and departed this life on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, in Ottawa, Kansas at the age of 59. Jerry and his family moved to Ulysses, Kansas in 1957. He attended Red Rock Grade School and Ulysses High School Class of 1968. He enlisted in the Army in 1968 and had his Basic Training at Fort Hood, Texas before being deployed to Korea. Jerry worked for Don's Electric for several years and then went to work for Mobil Oil as an Electrician until his retirement in 1997. He then moved to Garnett, Kansas in 2004 and moved to Village West in Ottawa in 2007. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family, and did that as often as he could. Jerry was preceded in death by his father and his mother. He is survived by his three children; Misty Posey of Anderson, Missouri; Cody Milligan and fianc Angelica Wade of Pittsburg, Kansas; Jeraca Rader and husband Brian of Hays, Kansas; four grandchildren, Haley Posey, Jacob Posey, and Taylor Posey of Anderson, Missouri; Brooklyn Milligan of Pittsburg, Kansas; one great grandson, Christian Rooks of Anderson, Missouri; two sisters, Lyvonne Stewart and husband Carlson of Waynoka, Oklahoma; Lynette McHenry and husband Gregg of Garnett, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas. The family will be present to greet friends at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel on Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Military service and burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, April 19, 2010, at the Ulysses, Kansas Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society left in care of the funeral home.
