Jerry Trester

Jerry Lee Trester, 63, of Iola, Kansas, died Saturday, July 2, 2011, at his home. Jerry was born March 21, 1948, in Iola, Kansas, the son of Bert A. and Maxine L. (Scheer) Trester. On August 30, 1968, Jerry married Janice E. Jones and they made their home in Iola. Jerry worked at Walton Foundry for 17 years. He later worked at Ray's Metal Depot and was groundskeeper of the 54 Drive-In Theater. SURVIVORS: His wife of 42 years: Janice Trester of the home 3 Daughters: Tammy Harris & husband, John of LaHarpe, KS, Tina Bresee & husband, Ted of Iola, KS and Pamela Waggoner & husband, Marc of LaHarpe, KS 4 Brothers: Larry Trester of LaHarpe, KS, Gary Trester of Chanute, KS, Ivan Trester of LaHarpe, KS, and Carl Trester of Chanute, KS 3 Sisters: Beverly Hoddy of Chanute, KS, Judy Burkholder of Branson, MO, and Sharon Trester of Iola, KS 9 Grandchildren & 7 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents. VISITATION: 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. The Rev. Steve Bubna will officiate.
